The Lakeside Firefighters Local 4488 hosted their first Annual Golf Tournament benefiting Stoney’s Kid's. Stoney's Kids is a local charity that provides after school care, funding for summer camps, tutoring, sports programs, swim classes, art lessons and much more. Besides golf, the event also included a raffle, silent auction, giveaways, and a new car for anyone who got a hole in one. There was a contest for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and putting.

Following the tournament, golfers and family members enjoyed a reception and dinner. Golfers included members from Lakeside’s Local 4488, Lakeside Fire Board members Jim Bingham, Jon Lorenz, and Pete Liebig, Alpine, Santee, Viejas and Heartland Fire Rescue firefighters. Additionally we had employees from San Diego Firefighters Federal Credit Union volunteering to support the event and golf. Many local businesses supported the event, including Albert’s Mexican food, Hooley’s Irish Pub, BNS Brewery, Pick Up Stix, SDFFCU, El Cajon Ford., and Takeda. Cottonwood Golf Course provided the venue, with donations from Cottonwood, Sycuan, and Mission Trails Golf Courses.
